Indigenous people is a group of ethnic people that have lived in a certaint geographical area for generations with close links with all of their people.
Indigenous people are groupl like the Maories in Austraslia, the Sami in Norway, the Red Indians in America And the Inca's in South-America.
The Inca Civilisation
The Inca people (also historically known as the Tiwantinsuya tribe) was an ancient indigenous tribe, possibly even older than most tribes of the red Indians in north America. The exact origin of the tribe is not exact, but it is widely known that the Inca’s were heavily overpowered by the Portuguese when they occupied South-America. The occupying of the Incas was basically done because of the fine wares the Inca’s had. They possessed large amounts of stone and pottery carvings, silver and gold jewellery and woven items that the Portuguese desired by high demands.

Groups of Inca's
The Inca’s were mostly setteled in the places around the mountains around Peru, but some of them lived in the lower lands. There were 3 kinds of Inca’s, The Pachacuti, The Tupa and the Huayna Capac Inca’s. These tribes were actually one gathered tribe, but leaded by 3 different people.
The Inca’s in the Andes Mountains (who might be the most widely knows) were the Huayna Capac Inca’s, (coloured orange on the map) they were maybe the most civilized of all of them, and maybe also the smartest ones. They made strong houses which people even today are having trouble copying, they made these strong houses since the Andes Mountains are “mounted” on top of a large continental moving plate where there often occurs earthquakes.
The Inca’s that stretched themselves all the way from Quito in Ecuador ‘til Santiago in Chile were the Tupa Inca’s. (light orange on the map) They were the most widely spread Inca’s. They didn’t live in the same way or same kind of “cities” as the Huayna Capac Inca’s, and they didn’t dress the same way, but were still called Inca’s.
The third group of the Inca’s were the ones living around the town now called Cuzco in Peru. They were called the The Pachacuti Inca’s. (dark orange on the map) This was sort of the most central of the tribes, it was the home of the most leaders of the Inca Civilisation. This is the place where you in the history books read about offerings to the
Sun-God and this is there the most offerings of blood and lives was done. There are plenty of movies based on the leading group of Inca’s, there is for example a movie that I have watched (but which I sadly enough cannot remember the name of) where the leaders of the Pachacuti tribe sent out “soldiers” to bring him prisoners from the Tupa tribe as offerings. There are also children cartoons based on the Inca tribe.
